FOXAhh, the Sports Emmys. Perhaps mankind's most illustrious honor, for twenty-seven years, the Sports Emmys have been informing us which program had better graphic design, Howie Long's Tough Guys or the Lincoln Financial Battle of the Bridges. Without the Sports Emmys, how would we know that the Sports Guy web cartoon on ESPN.com was one of the top four Outstanding Achievements in Content for Non-Traditional Delivery Platform? I sure hope that it beats the Off Mikes cartoon (also for Non-Traditional Delivery Platform ESPN.com).
For those of you with high stakes Sports Emmys pools, a word to the wise: I know it's tempting to pick the World Figure Skating Championships (Teases, Bumps and Rollout) for Outstanding Music Composition / Direction / Lyrics. But don't forget about dark horse candidate You Write Better Than You Play: The Frank Deford Story. Really great lyrics in that one.
My point is this: I've made up my mind, and I'm rooting for Joe.
