In the last episode of the John Kruk Prediction Corner, if you'll recall, ol' John predicted that the Yankees would win 130 games.
Reader Jed has an update for us. During last night's pre-game show on ESPN, J.K. predicted that the Red Sox would win the AL East.
So, by the transitive property of inequalities, we now have:
1. The Yankees will win 130 games.
2. The Red Sox will win the AL East.
3. The Red Sox and the Yankees both play in the AL East.
4. Therefore, the Red Sox will win
more than 130 games.
We'll be watching and waiting, John!
** EDIT **
Thanks to reader Bob for pointing out that the Red Sox could hypothetically win 130 games and win the division through a tiebreaker!
