We Have A New Catch Phrase!

John Kruk on SportsCenter commenting on the Indians' success:

3-2 count, they're not trying to do too much. They played non-hero baseball!

And ... ** FAKE EDIT ** ... he just said it again!!

Hits it the other way, drives in another run, basically puts the Yankees out of their misery. But that's what I mean: NO HERO BASEBALL.

No, that's not a typo. The first time he said "non-hero baseball," and then the second time, when he repeated it very emphatically, he said "no hero baseball."

List of Cleveland heroes:

Sizemore
Peralta
Martinez
Lofton
Hafner (game-winning hit)
Carmona

Hell, throw in Paul Byrd, who pitched sort of terribly, put 10 guys on base, and had entirely no business holding the Yankees to two runs.

I personally can't wait to start using non-hero and no hero baseball in future posts. Exciting times.

  1. A man calling himself !suege! suggests the "food metaphors" tag because of the presence of the word "hero."

Sorry, too much of a stretch even for me, a guy who loves a liberal use of "food metaphors." I like the thinking, though.
