Quote from the YES Network's Michael Kay-George Steinbrenner interview:
"[Steinbrenner] extolled one of his idols, Gen. Douglas MacArthur. 'You've got to be able to enjoy accomplishing victory,' he said. 'Victory is important. Douglas MacArthur said it.'"Remember the world before Douglas MacArthur said that? When no one was sure whether victory was important? And some sports teams, and armies, kept losing intentionally because they thought losing was important? Thank God MacArthur cleared that up for us. And Steinbrenner.
Also, "You've got to be able to enjoy accomplishing victory?"
All of the quotes I've read seem to have been translated into Japanese, and then back into English, by a small boy who does not speak either language.
